Information
- The venue for the event will be at the Kopanong Conference
Centre, in Benoni from October 14 to 19
- Over 100 delegates, representing major Inter-Faith Groups
across Africa, will be attending the conference.
- The conference is the result of a joint initiative of Interfaith
Groups and is being hosted in South Africa by the National Religious Leaders
Forum.
- Key topics of the conference will include:
- The role of Inter-Faith dialogue in promoting a culture
of peace.
- Freedom of religion and conflict prevention.
- The promotion and protection of Human Rights.
- Relations between Religion and the State.
- African traditional methods of conflict resolution
and reconciliation.
In addition the conference will hear first hand accounts from
people caught up in wars in Africa, including a former child soldier and a
landmine survivor.
